The Committee on the Green Party Platform, functioning under The Georgia Green Party Nominating Convention Rules & Regulations, uses this list to apprise party members on issues related to the Georgia Green Party platform and the Platform of the Green Party of the United States, including opportunities to propose amendments to the platform and to engage in debate and decision making related to such proposed revisions.
This Committee serves the Annual Convention of the Georgia party and the Georgia Delegation on National Green Party Affairs with respect to the national party platform revision process.
Along with real time meetings, discussion on this list are key to offering members an opportunity to debate and inform the development of proposed changes to the state and national party platforms. Ultimate adoption of such changes is the purview of the annual state convention, with respect to the Georgia Platform; and the Green National Committee and its Quadrennial Presidential Nominating Convention, with respect to the national party Platform.
This is not a venue for the general discussion of political issues, except as it relates explicitly to proposed changes to the Georgia and national party platforms. This is a forum for the conduct of business, and the usual expectations of decorum apply here. Participants are expected to treat one another with respect for their person, their time, and to assume good will.
Violations of decorum may result, at the discretion of the Committee Co-Chairs, in a subscriber being placed on moderation, with each of their posts to the list subject to approval.
